
Brandon Michael Mitchell, 34, of Jefferson, passed away on July 7, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Brandon was born March 14, 1992, in Jefferson, the son of Jim Mitchell and Cinthia (Worthington) Mitchell. Brandon attended Jefferson-Scranton High School.
Brandon especially loved camping, fishing, and working on cars. His most cherished hobby was spending time with family. The spot to find him on a beautiful day was camping at Squirrel Hollow. He had many project cars – he loved his Monte Carlo in high school and his most recent project was his Jaguar. Brandon liked to visit the ocean when he could and had friends in San Padre Island in Texas.
Brandon was always quick to joke and prank. He had a strong sense of humor. He enjoyed watching movies with his daughter Hope, and was always quick to help out someone in need. Brandon worked in various handyman roles throughout his life.
He is survived by his daughter, Hope Smith of Grand Junction; his father Jim (Jodi) Mitchell of Grand Junction; his brother James Mitchell of Cincinnati, OH; and many loving relatives; and friends.
A memorial service for Brandon was held July 13, 2026 at Slininger-Schroeder Funeral Home in Jefferson. Pastor Rob Ramariz of Water’s Edge Community Church, Ogden, officiated. Memorials are suggested to the Kavanagh Hospice House in Des Moines.
